"Planting A Promise Day"

CountryBank USA recently participated in "National Red Ribbon Week" in Devils Lake. This program is sponsored by Devils Lake Elks Lodge #1216 and the Lake Region Traffic Safety Council. Their goal is to promote "Drug Free Youth" and a "Drug Free North Dakota".

On Monday, October 30th, forty 7th & 8th graders planted over 100 red tulip bulbs in the flower beds in front of the Bank. Won't this look great in the spring!! The event was witnessed by representatives of the Elks Lodge, the LR Traffic Safety Council, LR Tobacco Coalition, Devils Lake Daily Journal and employees of CountryBank USA.

Dakota Neighbor Network Trips

The Dakota Neighbors Network consists of Bank Club Directors from nine North Dakota banks. The purpose of the Network is to provide more travel opportunities for our bank club members. The bank club director who signs up the most travelers will escort the trip. The director with the 2nd largest "sign-up" goes along as the helper! If 8 to 10 of our members sign up for a Dakota Neighbors Network Trip, there is a very good chance that Janice or myself would be able to assist on the trip. We would both love to travel with you so if you are interested in one of these trips sign up soon to make sure seating is available

There are only 5 seats left for this trip!

Playful Autumn

Michele Arrieh

Autumn is a playful child,
A lively little girl
With eyes the blue of azure skies
And bouncing golden curls.
Playing mischief merrily,
A paintbrush in her hand,
She changes lush green scenery
To an amber, scarlet land.
No one stops her as she romps
Through countryside and town.
She runs so fast that in her path
The leaves come swirling down

To everyone celebrating a
Birthday or Anniversary…

Have a Great Day!
From all of us at
CountryBank USA!!

  KAREN'S KORNER

Watch Out For Fraud!

An unscrupulous company almost got to Dennis and I last week. We had a charge for $79.95 on a credit card neither of us has ever used. I called the company (First USA) to see what the charge for "MWI*Connections" was. She told me that it was a telemarketing company and advised me to call the phone number listed behind the company's name on the credit card. She advised me to tell them that "this is an unauthorized charge and to remove our names permanently from their list".

I called MWI*Connections and the young lady I talked to told me our account would be credited for the $79.95 and seemed very anxious to end the conversation. I insisted that she tell me what the charge was for and how it got charged to our account. She said the charge was for airline tickets via one of their promotions.

I called the Consumer Fraud Division at the ND Attorney General's office regarding this. They had so many complaints about this company that one person was put in charge of this investigation. To make a longer story short-First USA has a contract with MWI. They mail out information (that looks like junk mail) stating that you have been selected to receive a special prize, and unless you contact them you will be billed for the special offer! So, please check your mail carefully and watch for any charges made by this company.

If you have a CountryBank USA VISA credit card, you can be assured that we do not sell our customer list to anyone, nor do we enter into a contract with any telemarketing company! The CountryBank USA VISA credit card is completely safe! If you have any questions about the CountryBank USA VISA Credit Card please give us a call or stop in and visit with one of our employees.

Friends are Like Angels

Our friends are like angels,
Who brighten our days,
In all kinds of wonderful,
Magical ways.

Their thoughtfulness comes,
As a gift from above,
And we feel we're surrounded,
By warm, caring love.
Like upside-down rainbows,
Their smiles bring the sun,
And they fill ho-hum moments,
With laughter and fun.
Friends are like angels,
Without any wings,
Blessing our lives,
With the most precious things.
